The race, over the two distances of 25km and 60km, will be held on Elba on 13 April. Registration is open until April 12th+
ISLAND OF ELBA – The paths of Elba are fascinating for being both challenging and panoramic, showing all the beauties of the area among diversified scenery, inebriating scents and brilliant colours. It is against this naturalistic background that the Elba Trail competitive race will be held next April 13th, now in its 14th edition, which offers two distances, the shorter one of 25km and the classic one of 60km.
These two routes will allow athletes not only to challenge themselves and their resistance limits, but also to explore some areas of Elba with a high level of emotion, in particular the hinterland and the coast of the western end of the island: the 25 km in fact, it starts from Marciana Alta, which with its 375 m altitude is the highest town on Elba, then descends towards Colle d'Orano and touches the towns of Chiessi, Patresi and Sant'Andrea along the enchanting Costa del Sole, one of the most evocative stretches of coast, finally ending in Marciana Marina; the 60 km, however, starts from the latter town, Marciana Marina, to immediately reach Monte Capanne (the highest peak on Elba with its 1019 metres), pass through Marciana Alta and Monte Giove, go down to Pomonte and finally reconnect with the 25 km route from Colle d'Orano.
For this edition, 300 participants are expected, competitive athletes from all over the world, a clear increase compared to last year, demonstrating the ever-growing international recognition of the race and the validity (and beauty) of Elba's routes.
In addition to the trophies for the winners and the medals awarded to all participants, there is also a special prize, the Mountain Grand Prix, for the first man and the first woman to reach the summit of Monte Capanne, a recognition in memory of the founder of the Elba Trail, Massimo Russo. Furthermore, thanks to the twinning with the Mugello Ultra Trail, there is a special prize for those who participate in both races.
“We are happy to be able to once again host a very high level race like the Elba Trail, which attracts international competitive athletes to the island and makes it discovered” –+ Competitions like this allow you to enjoy adrenaline-filled experiences in a context strongly devoted to the outdoors, thanks to the wide variety of sports on offer and, above all, thanks to the favorable climate which allows you to train and compete on Elba for most of the year.”
To participate in the races you can register by connecting to the website www.endu.net (Register for an event | ENDU) by 12 April 2024.
