Now in its seventh edition, the Suzuki V-Strom Off Road Academy has a total of six events scheduled for 2024, from April to June, during which all participants will be able to refine their off-road driving technique and, at the same time, test the off-road qualities of the V-Strom 800DE and V-Strom 1050DE.
All six events will have as their starting point the suggestive location of the Luzzano Castle, in Rovescala, in the province of Pavia, 65 km from Milan. But let's see the details.
How the courses are held
Lasting one day, the Suzuki Off Road Academy 2024 courses are aimed at both those approaching the world of off-roading for the first time and more experienced riders eager to refine their technique.
On the “lesson” day, participants will go through a briefing on motorbikes and riding techniques, with a theoretical part and a focus also on the correct position to take in the saddle. Once the theoretical part is concluded, the practical part will begin: the morning will be dedicated to the test field where targeted exercises useful for increasing driving safety on slippery or uneven terrain will be performed, from paths to dirt roads, passing through mule tracks and stony ground. Obviously, to adapt to the abilities of each participant, the exercises will be performed at different levels of difficulty. In the afternoon, however, all the techniques learned in the morning will be put to use in an off-road route of around 40 km, always under the watchful eye of the Suzuki instructors ready to give suggestions to the students during the educational stops.
Registrations: methods, requirements and prices
To book you need to connect to the dedicated website and select the date (the calendar includes three weekends: 6-7 April; 4-5 May; 1-2 June) and your favorite model from the two available (the V-Strom 800DE or its big sister 1050, both equipped with Dunlop Trailmax Raid tyres). Once the confirmation email has been received, you will be contacted by the Academy staff to define the final details and payment methods. The cost of the course is 350 euros and includes lunch.
The only requirements to participate are obviously the driving license, the medical certificate issued by the GP and the appropriate technical clothing, therefore helmet, gloves, jacket and trousers with protectors, back protector and boots, preferably with clawed soles.
