Musical genes or not, Frieda Waanders had already concluded at a young age that her future did not lie there. “I come from a musical family and there was actually classical music around me all the time. But I soon realized that my talent did not lie in playing an instrument. My passion lies more in sculpting,” says the Hammer artist, who last year she made a monument in memory of a forgotten bus disaster in her hometown.
