Record hunting
2024 objective: to beat the record of 2023, the year in which 156 exhibitors and 64,000 visitors were registered on the two dates in Bergamo and Turin. A double appointment also planned for the current year in which we celebrate the tenth edition of BikeUp, the event dedicated to pedal two-wheelers that began in Lecco way back in 2014. It starts from 12 to 14 April in Bergamo in the classic location of the city Low in the squares around Via Roma at the base of the Sentierone, the road that goes up to the Upper Town. The replica is confirmed in the greenery of the Valentino Park in Turin in the days between 24 and 26 May, an easy place to reach from Porta Nuova station and close to the cycle path along the Po and the paths that lead to the hills.
Not just e-bikes
The winning recipe of recent years has also been confirmed, with a large exhibition area hosting all types of vehicles for moving around the city with ease and with zero emissions. As always, pedal-assisted bikes will dominate the scene with a vast range of models from the main brands in all sectors, from folding ones for moving in combination with public transport to classic city bikes up to enjoyable models, such as trekking, gravel, eRoad and mountain bikes. There will be no shortage of cargo bikes, increasingly appreciated for work use in last mile deliveries, but also by families with small children or pets to take for a walk in a silent and “clean” way. To complete the urban green solutions there will be battery-powered scooters, scooters and motorbikes and electric microcars such as the Xev Yoyo which can be driven by 16-year-olds with a B1 licence. Ample space, as per tradition, will be reserved for cycle tourism offers, with local, national and international destinations, and for proposals from companies active in mobility services such as, for example, those in the bike parking and rental sectors.
Free entry
As in the past, there is not only so much to see, but there is also a way to actively participate, thanks to the possibility of trying many of the e-bikes on display and taking part in test rides and excursions to test racing models in their natural environment. city, trekking and offroad. There is no shortage of entertainment for children and adults, workshops and meetings on various topics of zero-emission urban mobility. In particular, we would like to remind you that on May 24th in Turin there will be the second edition of the conference on bike to work, aimed at mobility managers, professionals and people interested in the topic. Entrance to the events is free, but online registration on the event website is mandatory to participate in the various activities.
