According to a well-known gaming industry analyst, 2025 could be the year in which Microsoft brings all its games to other platforms, including PS5.
It’s nothing new to see Microsoft games on other platforms, but according to the words of Serkan Toto of Kantan Games, Microsoft will go further within the year just begun.
The analyst claims that the choice is due to a series of reasons including the contribution to the payment of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and a certain advantage of Sony in the market.
2025 could be the year they go in
Says Toto: «Activision Blizzard’s $69 billion deal, rising costs across the board, the power of forever titles, Sony’s huge lead and other factors will likely leave Microsoft no choice but to to soon bring all its great games to PS5, including blockbusters like Gears of War: E-Day or Perfect Dark.”
In early 2024 we saw games like Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush launch on other platforms. Even before that, Minecraft had landed on PlayStation and Switch. Call of Duty is also now a Microsoft franchise, which continues to release the game on the Sony platform.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, one of the great Xbox titles, will also arrive on PS5 in spring 2025.
Following the great wave of remastered games, there are rumors of a probable remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved, which will have a good chance of being launched on PS5.
Also around May, it was reported that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood are imposing ever-larger margins across all divisions, including Xbox. It was then said that more Microsoft titles would be brought to Playstation to increase revenue. There is said to be an internal plan at Microsoft called “Latitude” that focuses on formulating plans to bring more Xbox games to other rival systems.
If the predictions are true, it will be a truly turning point for the world of video games.
