The DCU is taking more and more shape with the recent revelation of the animated version of Batman, but what will happen to the Batman played by Robert Pattinson in the 2022 film “The Batman”, which will see a sequel not so quickly? Director Matt Reeves, who directed the 2022 film, intervened to try to clarify this thorny issue.
As revealed by the VG247 magazine, the director recently spoke out about the thorny issue of the relationship between The Batman and the DCU, stating the following:
“There was a story I wanted to tell: the epic crime saga. It was important to me to take it forward and James and Peter (Safran) were really fantastic in that. They’re letting us do it. What the future holds, I can’t tell you. I have no idea, I also have no idea how the relationship between this product and the DCU will be handled. Right now I’m focused on filming The Batman 2, which is my priority without a doubt.”
A decidedly enigmatic answer that does not allow us to lean towards either option: things will probably become clearer on the occasion of the release of The Batman 2.
