Last year one of the most anticipated series of recent times arrived, Dragon Ball Daima, which has as its premise the return of the favorite warriors to their state as children, so we can see beloved characters in state for the first time, especially Vegeta. Speaking precisely of the prince of the Saiyan race, in one of the episodes his writing sparked controversy, since certain fans found an incoherence in the narrative.
In the final episode we were presented with something we had been asking for for years, and that was phase number 3 of the character in Super Saiyan state, which is a significant step, since for a long time he lagged behind compared to Goku, who always was one step ahead, thus taking away some growth from it. On the other hand, there are those who mention it doesn’t make any sense, especially because of the timeline in which the story is located.
For those who don’t know, Daima is located before the events of Super, which is why there are no known characters from that franchise like Beerus and Wis, eminences of this universe who later become the tango masters of Goku and Vegeta. This is where the inconsistency comes in, since you never see the prince reach the third level, but instead jumps directly to both the standard and Blue god phases.
This marks once again the fact that Toriyama has forgotten his own work, since on certain occasions we see certain characters disappear from the franchise without prior notice, and that is precisely because Akira forgot to put them in for some reason, or perhaps because of its loss of relevance to what you want to tell. Anyway, the debate has not been long in coming on networks, about whether in the end Daima will be canon or if it is a spinoff that was made with another intention.
Remember that the chapters continue to come out weekly on Netflix and Crunchyroll. In mid-January, the first three episodes will be released in theaters with audio in Latin Spanish.
