Valve has announced a partnership with Lenovo to bring SteamOS to Legion Go S: it is the first third-party portable device that will officially use the Steam Deck operating system.
“We created this operating system to offer a user experience perfectly optimized for gaming, while ensuring the power and versatility of a PC,” reads the press release released by the Bellevue company. “Our team is making updates to ensure it perfectly supports the Lenovo Legion Go S, delivering the same seamless experience users expect.”
Furthermore, Valve has announced that a beta version of SteamOS will soon be made available for download, so that interested parties can install this operating system on other third-party devices that are not officially supported.
We remind you that SteamOS is a Linux-based operating system developed internally by Valve that uses the Proton compatibility layer to run video games.
