The 2025 edition of CES is currently taking place, an event in which many companies are showing their technological advances. We saw this hours ago with the revelation of the new Nvidia cards from the 50 line, as well as the production of many PlayStation movies and series. For its part, although some may not believe it, Nintendo has been present at the fair, but not directly.
Accessories manufacturer Genki has attracted attention by showing a fictional model of the long-awaited Switch 2. Although it is not an official unit, the company assures that this replica has the “exact dimensions” of the device, providing attendees with an approximation of the design of the next system. Which until now is a mystery to many technology enthusiasts.
The prototype, available only behind closed doors, reveals potential hardware details. According to a German media, the console is larger in size compared to the original. In addition, the design of the Joy-Con introduces changes, such as a side sliding system to remove them instead of the traditional upward method. Also notable is an additional button on the right controller, provisionally identified as the C button, whose functionality has not yet been confirmed.
Genki has stated that it is working on various accessories for Switch 2, including controllers and docking stations. These products are designed to be available upon the official launch of the device, ensuring a robust add-on offering from day one.
Although this replica is not representative of a final version, the model on display has sparked excitement and speculation among Nintendo fans, who are awaiting more official information about the next chapter in the hybrid line. Presumably the first look can be taken before the end of January.
