The leaks of the Nintendo Switch 2 continue with all their might. Now, new information has given us a better look at what the dock for this console would be. The interesting thing is that the details provided here would have revealed that this hardware would make use of a much more powerful charger compared to the one we find on the Switch at the moment.
Recently, Laura Kate Dale, a respected cultural and accessibility consultant, shared an image of the Switch 2 dock, which she claims comes from a reliable source. Although we do not see the complete design, it is possible to read the text found here, where it has been revealed that the console will use a 60W charger.
This is a new photo I have recieved from a trusted source showing a Switch 2 Dock, featuring visible input and output voltage information (other information obscured).
In addition, I have learned that the Switch 2 ships with a 60W charger for use with the dock. pic.twitter.com/HxGsjaensC

Notably, the current Switch’s dock accepts 39W chargers. Although at the moment there is no official information, this would indicate that the current console charger will not be compatible with the Switch 2, something that previous leaks had already pointed out.
It’s unclear at this time why the input voltage is higher, but one theory has pointed out that this takes into consideration accessories that can be connected to the supposed additional USB slot on top, and not so much the console itself. However, at the moment there is no clear answer to this question.
Let us remember that the reveal of the Switch 2 will take place before the end of the fiscal year, that is, before March 31, 2025, so it is only a matter of time before all our questions are answered. On related topics, a new update arrives on the Switch. Likewise, fans believe that the Switch 2’s Joy-Con could be used as a mouse.
Author’s Note:
This may not seem like very important information, but let’s remember that the Switch 2 will be backward compatible with the Switch, so many were probably hoping to use the current accessories on the future console, and it seems that this will not be entirely possible.
