It is no surprise that in the world of Hollywood there are rivalries between actors in the medium, surely some will remember what happened at the time with Silvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who constantly fought to be the best heroes in action movies. The same thing happened recently with The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and Vin Diesel, stars of the beloved Fast and Furious franchise, who have apparently left the fights in the past.
The feud between the two apparently returned to the spotlight after a comment made by Diesel during the 2025 Golden Globes. While presenting an award, Diesel threw in a light dig directed at Johnson with a casual “Hi, Dwayne,” prompting laughter among the public. Shortly after, he tried to soften the situation by posting a photo of the two on Instagram with the message “All love… Always.”
The relationship between the stars has been the subject of headlines since their well-known dispute during the production of previous Fast and Furious installments. In 2016, Johnson called Diesel a “f*****g” and a “candy-ass” co-star. He, for his part, stated in an interview with Men’s Health that his treatment of his partner was “tough love” to help him reach the level necessary for his character.
Despite these tensions, the franchise remains a point of connection. Johnson confirmed in 2023 that he and Diesel had put their differences behind them, ensuring that they would lead the saga with “brotherhood and determination.” Additionally, Johnson’s character, Luke Hobbs, will make a return in X: Part 2, scheduled for 2026, following a teaser in the tenth film’s post-credits scene.
Diesel’s conciliatory gesture on social networks seems to be an attempt to close one of the most high-profile rivalries in Hollywood. However, the comment shows that, although the conflicts can be resolved, humor and hints are still present in the relationship between both actors. It remains to be seen if in the end it was just a game that should not be interpreted any other way.
