The second season of The Apothecary Diaries will arrive in winter 2025. Maomao and Jinshi return with new characters and more mysteries. Remember that the first installment almost entirely adapted volume number eight, and will resume the story from chapter 41 showing one of the most anticipated scenes, more details below.
The opening song was titled “Hana ni Natte” and was performed by Ryokuoushoku Shakai—a four-member band that has participated with songs for My Hero Academia and Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon—. On the other hand, the ending of the first season was performed by AiNA THE END and was titled “Aikotoba” by AiNA THE END.
The new song that will be the main introductory theme is titled “Hyakkaryōran” (Splendid Bounty) and will be performed by Lilas Ikuta, the vocalist of YOASOBI (Oshi no Ko, Belle, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction).

When does episode 1 (25) of the second season of The Apothecary Diaries come out?
Episode one of the second season of The Apothecary Diaries will arrive on Friday, January 10 on designated platforms.
Chapter 24 of the first installment was titled “Jinshi and Maomao” and allowed us to see how Lakan, the apothecary’s biological father, buys a courtesan he thought was dead: the girl’s mother. After that, Maomao celebrates by dancing under the moonlight, unaware that Jinshi watches her silently and saves her from a fatal fall.
Chapter 25 (1) will be titled “Maomao: Cat and Hair” and the official synopsis is as follows:
“The spring garden party ended safely, and Mao mao returned to his daily life as a poison watcher for Princess Tamayo. Meanwhile, popular novels are very popular in the harem. Maomao wonders about the trend of novels that were not treated as entertainment for class people, but behind their popularization there was a target, the caretaker of the clan’s harem: Jin. And in the joy of spring, when I was going out to accompany Princess Suzurei, Princess Tamayo’s daughter, for a walk, a strange little guest suddenly appeared…”

What will the second season of The Apothecary Diaries be about?
Originally, the work is a series of light novels written by Natsu Hyūga and illustrated by Touko Shino. It has been serialized since 2011. It has two manga adaptations, one by Square Enix (in Big Gangan) and another by Shokugan (in Sunday Generation).
The anime adaptation arrived in the fall of 2023 and received a delivery in two-course format, it is carried out by the OLM studio and Tōhō Animation Studio.

The Apothecary Diaries is a story set in feudal Japan that follows the story of Maomao, an apothecary who is kidnapped and sold to the Emperor’s Palace.
