2024 ended in the worst possible way for several Rocksteady employees: the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League studio fired an unknown number of people during the Christmas holidays that have just passed.
We read it in the columns of Eurogamer, where editor-in-chief Tom Phillips reports that at least a dozen workers employed in the QA team would have been sent home. To these should also be added layoffs in the programming and artistic team departments, however the actual number of cuts is not known.
Unfortunately, the news of further layoffs at Rocksteady shouldn’t be surprising. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League immediately proved to be a huge commercial flop, so much so that it pushed publisher Warner Bros. and the development studio itself to stop supporting the game less than a year after launch.
