As the Astro Bot video game showed, PlayStation owns several intellectual properties that have unfortunately been forgotten. Now it seems that its new strategy will be to bring back some of its icons with smaller games that make room while big releases like Ghost of Yotei or Intergalactic arrive.
The information comes from Andy Robinson, a respectable reporter for the VGC media. According to him, his sources assured him that this is PlayStation’s new plan for the future to not leave fans so lacking in games. He also indicated that we will see the return of some really old and forgotten franchises. We wonder what it will be about.
These comments seem to resonate with those shared by the company’s new boss, Hermen Hulst. Recently he also shared his desire to revive several IPs that have been sleeping, although he did not go into details of which would be the first to return.

If true, this could represent a departure from PlayStation’s strategy under Jim Ryan where there was a big focus on games as a service. After the resounding failure of Concord and the triumph of Astro Bot with critics, it is possible that they finally opened their eyes to what fans really want.
What are some of the PlayStation IPs that fans most want back?
This news may bring some hope to fans of certain PlayStation IPs that haven’t returned in years. On social networks, fans are clamoring a lot for the returns of series like Sly Cooper, Infamous, Killzone, Resistance and even Twisted Metal. In fact, the latter supposedly would have a game as a service that was canceled last year.
Taking into account that Andy Robinson mentioned that they would be really dark IPs, they may go elsewhere that are less popular. Here we could think of a new Ape Scape, Gravity Rush or even hopefully taking advantage of Bloodborne now that they are majority partners of Kadokawa, owners of FromSoftware. What saga would you like to see return?
