As owners of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles well know, currently the Classics function, which allows players to play, following a single purchase or Premium subscription to the PlayStation Plus service, some of the best titles from previous PlayStation generations, allows players to get their hands on some PS3 titles exclusively in the Cloud, causing quite a few problems for users who don’t have a particularly stable home connection.
The developers seem to be well aware of the needs of the public, so much so that one of their main objectives for the future is to make the use of PS3 games on modern platforms more fluid and functional. Let’s read together what emerges from a recent publication on Reddit.
Among the objectives for the future of the PlayStation Classics system is the clear intention to delve deeper into the issue of PS3 emulation by “developing and testing an emulator for PlayStation 3 games compatible with Syrup”. The complications linked to the development of this system are to be found in the uniqueness of the complex PS3 system, which would be equipped with particularly difficult and unusual game loading systems, so much so as to make activating an emulator exponentially more difficult than what was seen for the other Sony platforms.
We await official confirmation regarding the results of these first experiments over the next few months.
