The Apothecary Diaries returns for a second season on Friday, January 10, 2025. Mao Mao is about to face new mysteries that will put the lives of the courtesans and Jinshi in danger. Prior to the premiere of the season, new art was shared that introduces us to each of the main characters of this installment. The anime is again from the OLM studio (Komi-san can’t communicate).

The new opening sequence was also revealed, which is performed by YASOBI singer Lilas Ikuta. The song is titled “Hyakka Rouran”. This presents several scenarios with predominant shadows and different poisons in flowers and animals.
One of the images from the opening of The Apothecary Diaries really caught the attention of fans, because everyone is waiting to see the arc of “The Frog” in which a sensual and romantic encounter will occur between Jinshi and Mao Mao. Although it is not known if he could animate it in this installment, it seems that they could close the season with these scenes.

About The Apothecary Diaries
The Apothecary Diaries is an original delivery in novel format, authored by Natsu Hyuga. The light novel arrived in 2014 and was illustrated by Touko Shino, at the Shufunotomo publishing house. A manga by Square Enix was launched in 2017 and the illustrations were by Nekokurage. Another edition came through Shōgakukan in 2017, and the art was in the hands of Minoji Kurata.
A first anime adaptation arrived in the fall season of 2023, it was carried out by the animation house OLM. It was delivered in deux cours format – it concluded with the winter season of 2024 -. Currently, the anime has 24 episodes.
