Lenovo has just announced the next stage for its portable gaming PCs with the introduction of the Legion Go 2 and Legion Go S. The latter will even have a model that will run using SteamOS which would make it the first of this type of device to use this system operating outside of Valve.
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 will have a whole series of new features. These include a new support for the device and improved removable controls. It will also feature an 8.8-inch OLED display with VRR support and will come equipped with AMD Ryzen Z2 or RYZEN Z2 Extreme. Finally it will be able to support up to 32 GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. Since it is in the prototyping phase, it does not yet have a release date.
Next we have the Legion Go S. This will be lighter and thinner than the current Legion Go with an 8-inch touch LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. Since it will be smaller and simpler, it eliminates the detachable controls to have them attached to the console permanently. As for the processor, it will come with AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or Z1 Extreme and can be equipped with 32 GB of Ram and up to 1 TB of SSD storage.

The Lenovo Legion Go S will be launched on the market starting this month with a cost of $729 in its model with Z2 Go processor, with 32 GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. A cheaper $599 version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage will arrive in May. For now we do not know when it will arrive in our region.
What about the Lenovo Legion Go S model with SteamOS?
As for Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS, this is also expected to be launched in May. This will be the cheapest version of all as it will cost $499.99. Its processor will be the Z2 Go and it will have 16 GB of RAM along with 512 GB of available storage.
By using SteamOS it will be much easier to enjoy your game collection on Steam through this portable Gamer PC, which could make it an alternative to the Steam Deck itself. Of course we will have to wait for its arrival to know which one is best. Will they buy it?
