One of the most iconic protagonists of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series seems to have become very fond of the character he plays: we are not talking about Keanu Reeves, an actor who lends his voice to Shadow in the third film of the series, but about a figure who appeared in more than one chapter in the series and was particularly capable of leaving its mark among fans.
The well-known and beloved actor Jim Carrey (The Truman Show, A Week in the Life, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) is also the one and only live-action interpreter of the main villain of the Sonic series, Doctor “Eggman” Robotnik and seems to be particularly fond of this role, as evident from recent statements.
As recently declared by the actor himself during a video interview, Carrey’s desire is to take on the role of the evil scientist also in a future chapter of the film series. Sonic 4, according to the rumors provided by the specialized press, should arrive in cinemas during 2027, but official confirmations are awaited.
In the meantime, however, the writers of the series do not hide the fact that they have further aspirations, outside of Sonic, for the world of film adaptations of video games, with particular interest in one of the most beloved Nintendo sagas.
