Everything you need to know about Honey Lemon Soda
What is Honey Lemon Soda all about?
Uka Ishimori is a girl who has always been protected by her family, although, we do not know exactly why, this protection did not prevent the young woman from being harassed in her classroom while she was in high school. His classmates nicknamed him “Stone” because he does not usually react quickly when they talk to him and he is also unable to socialize. Added to this is that part of his surname “Ishi-mori” has the sound of the word. However, the girl is a very dedicated and intelligent person in her studies, she is also skilled in sports and cheerful when she commits to something.
One night, when he is about to enter high school, Uka meets a young blonde who has a lemon soda in his hand. While she is reviewing pamphlets to enter high school, a couple of her bullies push her and she falls, she cries helplessly for her past and her desire to change, and while she is still on her knees, a blonde boy passing by on the street, confronts her. He helps her pick up his school pamphlets, tells her which one he’s going to, reveals his name, and leaves. Encouraging her to enter the same school.
Uka meditates a lot about this, but wants to enter one with more academic rigor, however, at the time of the placement exam, he is petrified and cannot enter the high-level institution that he planned, so he enrolls in the one he will go to. Kai Miura, the blonde boy who looks and feels as fresh as lemon soda.
After this, despite the fact that Kai is extremely distant and cold, he begins to reach out to him and make sure that he asks for help in the most critical moments. For no apparent reason, other than having taken responsibility in principle, he tells her that he will fulfill all the dreams she has.
His actions, full of determination and abrupt kindness, make Uka refresh his admiration and introduce an intense romance. One of the girl’s dreams will be to dare to confess her feelings to Kai.

The anime has an extremely fast start and with narrative edges that could seem incongruous. It reminds us a little of the beginning of Say I Love You and A Condition Called Love, and although it might seem like a story with crude, clichéd and fast lines, the background that will be slowly built is committed to self-love coexisting with falling in love and the search for improve as a couple and personally: the dream that does not have to be impossible with the right person.
In this way, although Honey Lemon Soda seems like just another series – of the moment -, it has details that opt for better paths and that could propose it as one of the warmest anime of the winter of 2025. In addition, the animation work is smooth and invites you to pay attention to the details. The eyes of the protagonists will seriously make you perceive the aroma of soda and the sensitivity of romance.
Although Miura and Ishimori seem very different, it could be that both end up showing us their most similar facets. In the end, Miura is harassed and defends himself with a lemon soda, while the inspired Ishimori does the same, however, it seems that this fact could bring him a lot of danger.
We recommend: A Condition Called Love: What is it about? Is it a good idea to follow this spring shojo?
What’s special about Honey Lemon Soda?
The mystery that could very well be love at first sight is the most intriguing thing about Honey Lemon Soda, why would someone like Kai choose to watch over our beloved Ishimori? It will be something to discover! In addition, the series relies on a classic shojo format that we had forgotten a bit, how do people fall in love and how do they deal with the problems they have to take the big step and propose a relationship?
