FREEDOM WARS REMASTERED IS NOW AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE FOR CONSOLE AND PC
Congratulations, Sinner. As a non-productive inhabitant of the Panopticon, you can reduce your million-year prison sentence, assigned to you at birth, only through the redemptive fire of battle. FREEDOM WARS REMASTERED, the classic action game originally released for PlayStation Vita, is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The cult hit has been remastered by the game’s original developer, bringing several improvements including 4K resolution, enhanced textures, an improved online multiplayer mode, an even more challenging “Deadly Sinner” mode and a frame rate of 60 fps for platforms new generation. The story remains the same, but some enhanced player systems make looting, crafting, and other player interactions easier than the original version.
Choose to provide value to society through combat by supporting your Panopticon and other productive inhabitants, or die a Sinner.
In a distant future, humanity fights for its survival. Pollution has ravaged the planet and what remains of the population is divided into prison cities called Panopticons. Resources are so scarce that life itself is a crime and anyone born is immediately sentenced to millions of years in prison. Nicknamed “Sinners”, the only possibility for the inhabitants, in addition to awaiting death in prison, is to fight for freedom together with their allies to obtain resources, save productive inhabitants from being kidnapped by rival enemies or take up arms against other Sinners enemies of opposing Panopticons.
FREEDOM WARS REMASTERED includes several improvements, including 4K resolution, improved textures and 60fps performance on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, a revamped weapon crafting system and other gameplay changes, as well as the addition of some new settings for the difficulty. While remaining faithful to the acclaimed original version, players will have to fight to survive. Fortunately, the Brambles will help the Sinners cross the world and defeat their enemies. The Brambles, in fact, allow a fluid three-dimensional movement by jumping and clinging to the ground. Players can choose weapons with unique abilities to set traps, provide healing, or increase defense. Brambles can also overwhelm enemies, severing limbs or arms to obtain additional resources. As players try to reduce their life prison sentence, materials found or taken from defeated enemies on the battlefield can be used to upgrade weapons.
The Panopticon is an independent entity: players will learn to understand and navigate the prison environment, using rights points earned in combat missions to gain new rights from their guardians, such as the ability to run for five seconds or to recline from sitting. Wardens are fully customizable, accessory androids that can also accompany players into battle under their ever-watchful eyes. The Panopticon’s community of prisoners will be essential to survival… missions support up to four Sinners, AI-controlled NPCs or other real players in online co-op. Unite to face more difficult combat missions and gradually reduce the imprisonment of millions of years in a deadly battle for freedom.
