A few weeks ago, producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that Square Enix could no longer count on the exclusivity of a single platform.
In September last year, the company held a briefing during which it shared its financial results, saying that profits did not meet the company’s expectations despite the release of several new titles, including Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, both released exclusively for PlayStation 5.
While Kitase denied that Rebirth was a commercial flop, he nevertheless stated that due to the nature of modern video games (likely referring to increasing development budgets), single platform exclusivity is no longer sustainable for Square Enix and that the company should allow as many users as possible to play its games.
According to a new rumor, this is exactly what is about to happen, given that Final Fantasy VII Remake should arrive not only on Xbox Series
This information comes from the latest NateTheHate podcast during which the reliable leaker stated that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on Series Nintendo.
These are just rumors, but it cannot be ruled out that official news on the matter could arrive during this month’s Xbox Developer Direct event. If not, the year has just begun and there are still several months left before this year also comes to an end. Staying on the subject of Final Fantasy, we remind you that the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for PC is scheduled for January 23rd.
