The world of streamers has been growing over time, since many people have tried to make a place for themselves in this business by buying a camera and trying out video games accompanied by an audience that they gain with a charisma that makes them unique. Initially Twitch was the preferred platform for broadcasts, but it seems that YouTube is also attracting attention.
Well-known content creator Moistcr1tikal has shared details about the differences in income he earns from streaming on both platforms. In a recent statement, he revealed concrete data that shows a stark contrast between the two video upload and streaming brands.
He explained that during one of his most successful streams on Twitch, with a peak of 75,000 live viewers, he earned $11,700 USD. This amount came mainly from ads and subscriptions, in which Prime subscribers played an important role. Despite the high number of viewers, profits were far below what could be expected from a broadcast of such magnitude.
On the other hand, he shared his experience on YouTube, where during a four-hour broadcast playing Starfield, he managed to generate $84,000. He described this broadcast as a challenge for insomnia and highlighted that, although the content was not particularly elaborate, the figures obtained were higher. Part of this difference can be explained by the greater number of followers it has there, exceeding 16 million, compared to the rival’s more than 5 million.
The income conversation is not limited to these two. Emerging platforms like Kick have begun to attract streamers with more attractive economic proposals. This will make creators, especially Spanish-speaking ones, decide to move on to other horizons when their contracts end. As streamers evaluate their options, competition between platforms will continue to set the tone in the content creation ecosystem.
