In three days the Kickstarter campaign for Ascendice 2 will end, a levitating D20 perfect for those who love tabletop role-playing games.
Following the success of the original Ascendice, the creators and creators of this peculiar gaming dice have taken everything they learned from the first project in order to improve everything in this successor. Ascendice 2 features improved levitation, greater stability, and a more portable design.
Levitation comes from the fact that the object is sold together with a base and the two objects have a magnetic interaction. The base, specifically, is designed to be as versatile and practical as possible. Lightweight and portable, it fits perfectly on any table or display shelf. Through the USB-C charging system and compatibility with power banks, you can take Ascendice anywhere.
Although it might seem like a collector’s item, this die is also an accessory to use during games. In this sense, the creators wanted to create the most balanced D20 possible by developing a unique resin casting technique in order to place each spherical neodymium core in the exact center of the D20 and ensure that each shot is perfectly fair.
Three separate rolling tests were conducted and each die was rolled hundreds of times, with the results added together and plotted in the graphs below:
Ascendice is five times larger than a standard D20 and eight times heavier, which adds serious weight to your shots and makes it a high-impact display piece. It is sold in different versions, called respectively Voidheart, Siren Song, Envy’s Cut, Bloodlust, Astral Shade and The Seraphim.
