This year will be quite important for Nintendo, especially because the launch of Switch 2 is expected, a console that will host many third-party video games and clearly exclusive ones from the company itself with large franchises involved. In fact, it is mentioned that one of the titles that will be dual console is Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, of which until now there is not much news in the form of images or trailers.
Fans face a new setback after years of waiting. Amazon has begun canceling original pre-orders for the game, placed before the game received its subtitle, “Beyond.” This measure is due, according to the company, to a “lack of availability”, which suggests possible logistical changes related to the launch.
It was initially announced at E3 2017, generating great excitement among fans of the franchise. However, in 2019, development was restarted, further postponing the arrival of Samus’ new adventure. Now, with a confirmed release for 2025, fans have seen orders cancelled, although there should be no problem as the store does not charge for products until they are shipped.
Although no detailed explanations have been given, it is speculated that the cancellation is related to the addition of the “Beyond” subtitle and the creation of a new SKU for the product. This move could be a sign that Nintendo is finalizing details to share a specific release date in the coming months.
For now, the doubt exists as to whether the game will be released on both the first Switch and the second with substantial improvements or if it will only be released on the less powerful one with clearly backward compatibility for the new one. We will have to wait for news on a hypothetical February live event.
