The Nintendo Switch 2 leaks don’t stop. Although the Big N has not yet shared official information about its next console, multiple details have come to light, giving us the opportunity to learn a little more about the next generation of the Japanese console ahead of time. Now, it has been revealed that the Switch 2 would have an RTX 3050 from NVIDIA.
We know that NVIDIA will continue its relationship with Nintendo on the Switch 2. However, unlike the current console, it seems that the next hardware would not use a modified chip, but rather a variation of the RTX 3050, which would lead to this console having a similar power to the Xbox Series S, something that might disappoint some people, but it is actually a substantial advance compared to the current model.
Although Nintendo and NVIDIA still confirm this information, this leak comes to light thanks to a recent report from The Verge, where it is mentioned that the Switch 2 would run at 60W in dock, and 45W in portable mode, something that, according to the Information about the RTX 3050 used in mobile phones would put the Nintendo console on par with this graphics card.
While the idea of seeing an RTX 3050 similar to what we see in some laptops sounds interesting, it is very likely that we will see a variation of this chip. At the end of the day, this represents a considerable increase over the current Switch, and would allow many more third-party games to be available on Nintendo’s next console, even experiences that seem like only a dream at the moment, like Elden Ring. On related topics, the name and logo of the Switch 2 are leaked. Likewise, the report corroborates the leaks of the console.
Author’s Note:
The possibilities of the Switch 2 are incredible. The idea of having something like an RTX 3050 on the go sounds like a dream come true for many people. Sure, certain changes will have to be made and there will be limitations, but this is still a substantial leap.
