Work continues on the new spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, and after the confirmation of the return of three actors from the original cast there is another official announcement arriving in the Max TV series.
As reported by the Deadline portal, Chuck Lorre, one of the creators of the original series, returns to the reins of the production of this spin-off. This effectively marks the first major collaboration with Bill Prady, also confirmed in the Max TV series, after the original The Big Bang Theory (Prady was a consulting producer for the spin-off Young Sheldon).
Lorre will collaborate on the project with writer Zak Penn (The Avengers, Ready Player One, Free Guy). Both the two of them and Brady are co-writing the script for the spinoff, from the Warner Bros. TV studio where Lorre is currently based.
As far as Penn is concerned, this is an unconventional choice, especially since he doesn’t have much experience with sitcoms. However, the writer has a strong background in the world of comics, having worked on the X-Men and Avengers films.
His presence would be useful especially for his passion shared by most of the characters in the cast, including Stuart Bloom (played by Kevin Sussman), whose comic book shop would represent a central element for the new TV series.
