There’s no going back from a Secretlab gaming chair, I assure you. Especially if it’s a TITAN Evo model, the one I’ve been living in symbiosis with for a few weeks now. Here in Bari they say “as you spend you eat” – that is, the price often justifies the quality of a product. And I couldn’t describe Secretlab products better, which make value for money their strong point. Of course, the price is decidedly high for “a simple chair” but you have to think that the Secretlab TITAN Evo chairs are real game changers.
The Secretlab TITAN Evo chairs are available in many variations, including those created in collaboration with important gaming brands but not only. If initially my idea was to rest my back on an orange armchair branded Dragon Ball Z, my final choice fell on the wonderful “Rathalos” variant of the one created in collaboration with the Monster Hunter brand, in my opinion the most beautiful currently available on the official Secretlab store. Among other collaborations it is possible to choose between FINAL FANTASY XIV, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, or Western IPs such as Arcane, League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch, The Witcher, Batman, Game of Thrones and many others.
Generally speaking, TITAN Evos are divided into two categories: those in fabric and those in eco-leather. The Rathalos version chosen by me belongs to this second category, but is characterized by a series of inserts that embellish it more than any other, such as the embroidery of the stylized wyvern and sections that seem to be made with real scales of the monster. Truly incredible to see. On the back of the armchair, then, there is a red embroidery on a black background that will make you feel like a real hunter and will psychologically prepare you for the release of the mammoth MONSTER HUNTER: WILDS next February.
The packaging of the Secretlab TITAN Evo is — forgive the repetition — truly titanic and I must say that it was quite complicated to get it into the elevator and move it from one room to another in order to open it. Once the seals were removed, however, my face and that of Fra, who helped me assemble it (read: he did almost everything) were filled with amazement. I don’t think I have ever seen packaging so well looked after so that none of the components could be accidentally damaged, with extremely clear instructions printed on a card as large as the entire box so that it can be seen even from a distance.
By assembling it with our hands, among other things, we were able to discover every little functionality and finish of the product: from the armrests that seem to be made of simple plastic, but which are actually soft and can be positioned as desired both horizontally and vertically , to a backrest that can be reclined almost completely. Not to mention the lumbar support and the possibility of “tilting” the chair: I confess that more than once I thought about taking a nice nap and perhaps being more comfortable than in bed, also considering the very soft magnetic cushion supplied, made of memory foam, equipped with thermoregulating gel and covered with a velvet that is extremely pleasant to the touch. Among other things, assembly is made easy by the fact that inside the package we will find everything we need, without the need to obtain tools from outside: all the necessary screws, a magnetic screwdriver (which we can use to tighten (occasionally, loose screws) and even the foam itself used for packaging is used to prevent the components from being damaged in contact with the floor or other surfaces during assembly.
The only big flaw of owning a TITAN Evo, as far as I’m concerned, is that I also own a couple of rabid cats, who love chasing and fighting each other like two monsters in a territorial dispute and above all clawing their claws on our furniture. For this reason I live in fear of finding the Rathalos chair ruined in a moment of distraction when I don’t have it under my butt and so I decided to keep some of the packaging from the original package, in order to protect it as much as possible from the clutches of felines . Probably thanks to this idea Secretlab could decide to make the next models with a pet-repellent coating, or to insert a cover inside the package with which to line the chair when not in use — even if coverings are available on the store, Spare armrests and cushions in case of damage, but I would prefer to continue to keep the Rathalos in perfect condition.
In short, if you want to treat yourself or give your gaming (or work, why not?) workstation a truly valuable product, the Secretlab TITAN Evo armchairs are definitely the best you can aspire to. Take advantage of periods such as Black Friday and Christmas sales to save up to 100 euros on this model (and up to 200 on the lower-end ones) and choose the gaming armchair that’s right for you: as mentioned at the beginning, once you’ve tried it you won’t you will never, ever want to go back.
