The Pokémon Company announces that Shiny Rayquaza is finally arriving in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Starting from December 20th and until January 5th, it will be possible to encounter the chromatic version of the Pokémon Stratosphere in the Teracristal 5★ Raids. The little monster will be of the Dragon type, and it will only be possible to capture it once.

Shiny Rayquaza Appears!
From 00:00 (UTC) on Friday, December 20, 2024 to 23:59 (UTC) on Sunday, January 5, 2025, Shiny Rayquaza will appear in 5★ Teracristal Raids! The Rayquaza that will appear in this event is of the Dragon type. Shiny Rayquaza cannot be found normally in the game, so this is one of the few opportunities to add this legendary Pokémon to your team!
The Shiny Rayquaza that will appear in this event can only be caught once per saved game. Until the end of the event, it will be possible to participate in other Teracristal Raids against the Pokémon to obtain other rewards even after catching it.
Shiny Rayquaza may appear in future events or new ways to encounter it may be introduced.
In the same period in which the legendary Pokémon will be available, there will also be massive appearances of black Pokémon in their chromatic version. Fraxure, Carbink and Cetoddle will appear in various locations: in these special massive appearances you will be more likely to encounter Shiny Pokémon. During the event, it will be possible to meet Cetoddle in Paldea, Carbink in Nordivia and Fraxure in the Bioterarium of the Mirtillo Institute.
Information on Teracristal Raid events
To participate in the Teracristal Raid events, download the latest News from the Poképortale by opening the menu with the X button and selecting Poképortale, then Secret Gift and finally Receive News from the Poképortale. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required to receive them. You will be able to find 5★ Teracristal Raids after completing the main story of Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet. If you haven’t completed the main story, you can still participate in these Teracristal Raids by joining other Trainers in multiplayer mode. To be able to participate in Teracristal Raids together with other Trainers via the Internet, a (paid) membership to Nintendo Switch Online is required. Terms and conditions of service apply.
