Path of Exile 2 introduces compelling challenges, including the Trial of the Sekhema, crucial to character ascension. This guide will help you in detail on how to successfully face the test, overcome the challenges and obtain the precious Ascendancy points.
Guide to the Trial of the Sekhema
To access this trial you will necessarily have to defeat Balbala, the Traitor, in Act 2, obtain Balbala’s Barya, the coin that you will need to access the Trial in question travels to the position marked on the Ardura travel map (or teleport there via a Waypoint) and you’ll come to some sort of ruined temple.
Balbala will be waiting for you there, in this case not as an enemy, but as an advisor. Place Barya of Balbala at the Relic Altar to begin the trial.
Structure of the Test:
The Trial of the Sekhema consists of a series of consecutive challenges, culminating in a boss fight. During the trial, your overall health is represented by Honor, a resource that decreases with damage taken and does not automatically regenerate.
Escape Trial: Requires you to traverse the area while avoiding enemies and traps. Ritual Trial: Consists of eliminating specific ritual enemies. Chalice Trial: Involves defending a central objective from waves of enemies. Gauntlet Trial: Intense combat challenge against numerous opponents. Hourglass Trial: Requires you to survive for a certain period, facing enemies and obstacles.
To easily pass these tests we advise you to:
Route Planning: Before each challenge, look at the map to choose the route that best suits your play style, avoiding negative afflictions that could complicate the test. Resistance Optimization: Upgrade your resistances to increase survivability. For example, increase your fire resistance to face the boss Rattlecage, the Destroyer of Lands. Honor Management: Pay attention to your Honor level; some rooms offer opportunities to restore it.
At the end of the challenges, you will face Rattlecage the Landbreaker, a mighty stone golem. Maintain a strategic position to avoid his powerful attacks and take advantage of windows of opportunity to inflict damage. Don’t dive headfirst but, as previously written, study the right sequences carefully to find a way to beat him without major difficulties.
Once you complete the Trial of the Sekhema, you will get:
Ascendancy Points: Fundamental for unlocking advanced abilities in your Ascendancy tree. Unique Relics: Special items that can modify your future trials, increasing both difficulty and rewards.
