During this Sunday’s Jump Festa ’25 it was announced that the manga Vigilante: Boku no Hero Academia Illegals, by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, will receive a television anime adaptation that will debut in April 2025, officially called My Hero Academia in the West : Vigilantes.
Kenichi Suzuki (Cells at Work!, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) will direct the anime. BONES FILM, a company recently founded by the BONES studio, will handle the animations of the series. Yōsuke Kuroda returns from the main anime My Hero Academia to write and supervise the script, while Takahiko Yoshida (Yowamushi Pedal, Cells at Work!) will serve as character designer. Yuki Hayashi returns from the main anime to compose the music together with Shōgo Yamashiro and Yūki Furuhashi.
Here is the synopsis of the series: “Koichi Haimawari failed to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his free time. One day, however, a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they have the courage, or the madness, to try. But they will soon discover that to fight evil it is not enough to be courageous…”
