Like every year, Metacritic reveals those video games that had the worst average rating and this time it revealed those that correspond to 2024. It should be noted that on this occasion it revealed which were the Top 10 of mediocrity.
Some of them were hardly played by anyone, but there were others that were highly anticipated and ended up disappointing the players. The worst of all due to its low average is Utopia City for PC, which had a 23/100.
Utopia City, developed by Parallax Arts Studio and published by Strategy First, had terrible ratings and that is why it was surpassed by the worst video games of 2023, Greyhill Incident and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which are tied with 38/100 on Metacritic.
We recommend: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – How it did on Metacritic.
The second video game of 2024 with the worst average is Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat with a 41/100, a development by NebulaJoy authorized by Capcom, which did not convince critics either.

Third place goes to HappyFunland developed and published by Spectral Illusions, which also has a 41/100 on Metacritic. The Top 10 video games with the worst averages of 2024 are as follows:
Utopia City – PC (23/100)Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat – Móvil (41/100)HappyFunland – PSVR2 (41/100)Food Truck Simulator – Xbox One (43/100)Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash – PS5 (44/100)Stranger Things VR – Meta Quest (44/100)TRANSFORMERS: Galactic Trials – PS5 (45/100)PO’ed: Definitive Edition – PC (46/100)Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports – PS5 (47/100)Metal Slug Attack Reloaded – Nintendo Switch (48/100)
It is certainly sad to see Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash on this list, especially given the great expectation it caused before its release due to the popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Also to Metal Slug Attack Reloaded, when in general Metal Slug deliveries always manage to stand out. A little more effort with these video games from the teams in charge would surely have helped them stand out on Metacritic.
