2024 ends with sad news: Martyn Brown, one of the co-founders of Team17 together with Michael Robinson, Debbie Bestwick, Andreas Tadic, Rico Holmes and Peter Tuleby, has passed away.
Considered one of the pillars of the British gaming industry, Brown contributed to the creation of dozens of video games, including the Worms and Alien Breed series. Having left Team17 in 2010 following the purchase of his shares by Debbie Bestwick, Brown continued to work in the sector through the consultancy firm Insight For Hire and after supporting various development studios, including Double Eleven, Exient , New Star Games and The Blast Furnace.
Martyn Brown passed away on December 28th at the age of 57 surrounded by family due to serious heart problems. The news was reported by GamesIndustry.
