By releasing a first trailer online that shows us the series, EMOTION has revealed that the animated transposition of Kowloon Generic Romance will be broadcast starting from April 2025. Some other cast members are also revealed: Okiayu Ryotaro will be Hebinuma Miyuki, Saka Yasuto will be Thao Nguyen, Koga Aoi will be Yang Ming and finally Suzushiro Sayumi will be Oguro.
We will find Iwasaki Yoshiaki directing the series, the screenplay will be handled by Tanaka Jin while Shibata Yuka and Kaneko Yuji will be character designer and art director respectively. The studio responsible for the animations is Arvo Animation.
Kowloon Generic Romance is taken from the manga by Jun Mayazuki, published in Italy by J-POP Manga. A live action adaptation was announced alongside the anime. The synopsis of the series: “Welcome to the Walled City of Kowloon: a dystopian city where the inhabitants are full of nostalgia and where past, present and future converge. Amid the hidden emotions and extraordinary daily lives of the men and women who work within its borders, a love story begins to unravel for real estate agent Reiko Kujirai that seems as familiar as Kowloon itself…”.
