The world of James Bond has seen many changes in look and performers over the years and many choices at a directorial level and beyond that have ended up in the crosshairs of discussion. A good 4 years after the release of No Time To Die, the last chapter of the series in chronological order starring Daniel Craig, there is still no encouraging information on the future of the franchise, on the contrary…
As recently reported by the well-known Wall Street Journal, the new film starring James Bond seems to have been put on hold and the current intentions of Amazon’s producers regarding the franchise would have angered the Broccoli family, historic producers of the James Bond films.
Barbara Broccoli, producer of the latest 007 works, said she was strongly against Amazon’s intentions to transform the James Bond franchise into a product along the lines of what Marvel did, i.e. producing large quantities of films, TV series and spin-offs. off around the project. Many insiders define the control that the Broccoli family has over the franchise as “maniacal”, effectively preventing the latter from expanding into the world of video games, TV series, gadgets and theme parks.
The friction between the Broccoli family and Amazon will necessarily lead to having to wait a long time before being able to get our hands on the famous spy’s next film.
