With the arrival of its new season, House of the Dragon is the most pirated series published on torrent sites in 2024.
The Game of Thrones prequel takes the place from The Last of Us, which topped last year’s list as the most pirated series of the year. Amazon’s The Boys takes second place at a respectable distance, while Disney’s Shōgun is the newest of the year.
For several years in a row, the list was topped by Game of Thrones, but HBO’s reign came to an end after the final season in 2019. Then, the Disney+ series: Wandavision and The Mandalorian became the most pirated series in 2020 and 2021, respectively. However, that change did not last long, as HBO would return to first place with the first season of House of the Dragon in 2022.
The following year, HBO would continue with the first place, now with a series based on Naughty Dog video games: The Last of Us. That change didn’t last long, however, as the dragons return this year.
On the other hand, users place Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys in second place, followed by Disney and FX’s historical drama series, Shōgun. Netflix returns to the list with Arcane, which ranks fourth as the most pirated series of 2024.
