Keep will join Google’s suite of tools on Android. Google Keep is an application that allows users to create text, audio or graphic notes and organize them in the device’s file system.
You can also connect the application with Google Drive to save your information in the cloud and be able to access it at any time from different devices.
The application is packaged by default in the latest beta of Android 16, which indicates the company’s intentions to include it as a standard application once the final version of this operating system is released.
What implications does the inclusion of this application have in the Google suite? Each tool that is part of your device has the obvious advantage of being pre-installed by default. It is not necessary to search Google Play for applications that meet this functionality, since they will be standard capabilities of each phone or tablet.
On the other hand, some users reject the implementation of these tools. Standard Google applications cannot be uninstalled without having direct access to the operating system, which means that they will take up space in your device’s memory whether you like it or not.
This phenomenon has been called “bloatware” by sectors specialized in computing. Pre-installed applications on new devices that many users consider unnecessary or useless and that take up disk space for other tools or documents.
Regardless of your position on these tools, the arrival of Google Keep seems inevitable with the launch of Android 16 that will occur in 2025.
