The final battle calls Natlan’s warriors to arms in Natlan’s new Archon Chapter V quest. In the previous main story, the six heroes of Natlan have reunited, and the sacred blessing of resurrection is now extended to all Natlan warriors. Furthermore, the traveler will awaken Pyro’s power, while the Abyss will further prove its evil with the Lord of the Eroded Primordial Flame, the imitation of an Abyss dragon, in the final fight against the enemy boss.
Revered as Natlan’s brightest protector during the war with the Abyss, Mavuika, also known as Haborym, Archon of Pyro, takes to the field with two unique fighting styles: she fights enemies with her claymore or lashes out at them riding his Pyromoto. Tapping her elemental ability summons a Brilliant Ring of Ardence, capable of following Mavuika or the active character and dealing constant Pyro damage. Holding down the elemental ability allows Mavuika to ride her Pyromoto and climb mountains, move across terrain and over water, glide in mid-air, and hit enemies along the way. By fighting alongside her teammates, Mavuika also gains a unique resource called Fighting Spirit capable of unleashing her Elemental Blaze, releasing a powerful AoE Pyro attack and entering a special state with interrupt resistance and a greater combat power. Additionally, Mavuika can reduce the ToR of Night Soul Transmission by 20% for your party. You can find out more about this determined woman in her story mission, which will unlock after the last Archon mission.
Citlali, “Grandmother Itztli” of the Night Wind Masters,” as a 5-star Cryo character equipped with a catalyst, brings a more icy atmosphere to the battlefield than the heat of burning flames. Citlali, a shaman admired by all, is accompanied by Itzpapa and Citlalin. While exploring, they transform into cushions allowing Citlali to float in mid-air in comfort. In combat, Citlali creates a Cryo shield and summons a storm that deals area damage with her two small companions. While in the Night Soul Grace state, “Grandmother Itztli” reduces enemies’ resistance to Pyro and Hydro when affected by Freeze and Fusion reactions, even when Citlali is not on the field. Both Mavuika and Citlali make their debuts in the event wishes of the first half of version 5.3, while Harlequin and Clorinde return in the second half.
In the last phase of version 5.3, Lan Yan will be introduced, a new Anemo character equipped with a catalyst and coming from Liyue. One of the Qimen arts he inherited is the Swallow Shield, which can convert into Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro and absorb the corresponding elemental damage. After converting, he leaps into the air and deals damage of the same elemental type back to enemies. Additionally, many other five-star characters such as Ganyu and Shenhe will return in a new edition of the Wish Chronicles.
Meanwhile, the lively port of Liyue shines again with the Lantern Festival. Players can share the festive joy by earning various free rewards, including 1,600 Primogems and the new glider “Wings of Fateful Entanglement” via in-game mail, 10 Entwined Fates via the daily login event, a four-star character from Liyue optionally by completing the Lantern Festival event and a new outfit for Xiangling by accumulating Holiday Fever.
In addition to the joy of rewards, mini games and events guarantee a lot of fun. This year, players can share their personalized greeting cards with companions and other travelers to share their memories and best wishes. They can also enjoy building up Holiday Fever with a block-destroying minigame called Immortal Clash and a Stratagems combat challenge. After accumulating a certain amount of Holiday Fever, players will have a chance to obtain Xiangling’s new outfit, “New Year Celebration,” and other free rewards. Instead, Hu Tao’s new outfit, “Snow Cherries,” will be available at a discounted price in the Store for a limited time.
Version 5.3 offers new features for several game modes. The popular music game will become a permanent mode allowing players to create and share their own scores. Additionally, the new Echoes of Kazuha and Ganyu will be available in the Imaginary Theater after completing their respective challenges.
This version also aims to make further optimizations to character development. The character screen now includes a new button that takes you directly to the Training Guide. Information regarding artifacts, weapons, and character talents within the Training Guide has been made clearer and easier to understand. Additionally, the artifact limit in the Inventory has been increased to 2,100, providing more space and flexibility in managing artifacts. Bosses will now respawn in just 5 seconds without the need to teleport, ensuring a smoother and more efficient process for obtaining character upgrade materials.
Genshin Impact version 5.3 will be available on January 1st along with Pyro Mavuika’s Archon and the Lantern Festival. Thanks to the cross-progression function and cooperative mode, players can enjoy their adventure on PlayStation®, Xbox, PC, Android and iOS. Genshin Impact is rated T for Teen by ESRB on PS5, PS4, Xbox, PC and Google Play and 12+ on iOS.
