Home Alone, or My Poor Angel, is one of the most watched movies this season. However, being superimposed on the adventures of Kevin McCallister can be counterproductive, since you start to question things you shouldn’t. One of the clear examples is the fact that for years there has been debate about how the protagonist’s parents could have enough money to have such a big house and still travel at Christmas. Well, the director of this film has finally answered this question.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Columbus, director of the first two Home Alone films, finally revealed that Kevin’s parents were successful in their various fields of work, so they had enough money to pay for the movies. vacations and still live in luxury. This is what the filmmaker commented:
“At the time, John (Hughes, the writer) and I talked about it and decided what jobs they had.
(The mother, Kate), was a successful fashion designer.
The father might have worked in advertising, but I don’t remember what exactly he did. “I wasn’t involved in organized crime, although there was a lot of crime in Chicago at the time.”
Over the years, there had been speculation that Kevin’s father was a criminal, or even a corrupt politician. However, the director has finally put an end to all these rumors with a definitive answer that, we hope, will be more than enough for some fans. On related topics, they recreate Home Alone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Likewise, the surgeon analyzes all the blows in these films.
Author’s Note:
It’s nice to see that one of the movie’s big mysteries has an answer. However, this makes it clear that fans can become obsessed with unimportant elements. The parents’ work does not change the plot of the two films at all.
