Although licensed games can fulfill the dream of more than one person to enter certain worlds, these titles have an expiration date, and contracts cannot last forever. In this way, it has been revealed that multiple Cartoon Network games have disappeared from digital stores.
Since yesterday, December 23, multiple Cartoon Network games, published by Warner Bros. Games, have been removed from digital stores on PC and consoles for no apparent reason. This is the complete list:
OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes
Steven Universe: Save the Light
Steven Universe: Unleash the Light
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest
Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games
This is not the first time something like this has happened, since some time ago we saw that multiple Adult Swim games suffered the same fate. Although Warner Bros. Games has not revealed what happened in this case, everything indicates that it is a licensing problem.
While Warner Bros. owns these licenses, this is likely an issue with the team that developed these titles and potential royalties. If you were one of the lucky ones who purchased their digital copies, you can still access these titles and redownload them if necessary. However, if you never had the opportunity to enjoy Steven Universe: Unleash the Light, your only option is to get a physical edition.
We can only wait to see if any of these titles manage to return in the future. On related topics, Cartoon Network has closed an iconic animation building. Likewise, Cartoon Network is now part of Warner Bros. Animation.
Author’s Note:
Of this list, Steven Universe: Save the Light and Steven Universe: Unleash the Light are the most worthwhile titles. These are very traditional turn-based RPGs, but for fans of the animated series, they are a very entertaining tour of the world of Steven Universe with an original story.
