Microids has announced the video game adaptation of Agatha Christie – Murder on the Nile, an investigative video game inspired by one of the British writer’s most famous masterpieces.
Developed by Microids Studio Lyon, already author of Agatha Christie – Murder on the Orient Express, this adaptation explores a new direction by adding new plots, advanced game mechanics and a unique setting: 1970s Egypt.
“Player feedback on Murder on the Orient Express, where Hercule Poirot already shared the investigation with a second detective, Joanna Locke, was invaluable in guiding the development of Murder on the Nile. We’ve increased the difficulty level with more complex puzzles and offered more freedom in the progression of the investigation. Furthermore, the adventure intertwines the stories of Hercule Poirot and Jane Royce, the new detective, even more,” says David Chomard, CEO of Microids Studio Lyon.
In Murder on the Nile, a peaceful cruise on the Nile is shattered by a terrible crime. On board is Hercule Poirot. Meanwhile, another private investigator is on the trail of a murderer, who leads her from London to Mallorca, to New York and finally to Egypt. The two investigations collide in Abu Simbel. The duo will have to solve a complex case full of twists and turns, but the story does not end with the book and still reserves many mysteries and twists, even for Agatha Christie fans.
Agatha Christie – Murder on the Nile will be released during 2025 on PC (Steam), PS5, Xbox Series
