Without a doubt, Deadpool & Wolverine has been one of the big surprises of the year in terms of the latest releases from Marvel Studios. The countless cameos in the film were very important and many of them are still talked about months after their arrival in theaters. Although Deadpool & Wolverine is full of references to Marvel on the big screen, the film also had important absences that fans of the X-Men franchise noticed, such as Storm or Cyclops.

However, although many variants of Logan appeared as Deadpool tried to find the perfect Wolverine, one popular version of the mutant was omitted anyway. While it’s true that there was no trace of Weapon X in Deadpool and Wolverine, an incredible cosplay provided a perfect look at what this Logan might have looked like four years ago.
The cosplay in question, which was posted via Reddit, recreated the popular Weapon In this case, the Weapon X version of Wolverine appeared as a cyberpunk-style Logan that was partially adapted into X-Men: Apocalypse. However, the film version played by Hugh Jackman omitted the best details.
The truth is that it is not too surprising that Hugh Jackman’s cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse did not include the visor that hid the X-Men’s face in the original design. One possible reason is that this could have resulted in a loss of the significant impact of Hugh Jackman’s version of Wolverine.

However, Marvel Studios’ decision to omit him from Wolverine’s various cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine is certainly somewhat surprising. That’s one of the most iconic aspects of the character, so it feels kind of weird that it didn’t have a place in a movie that cared so much about fan service.
The comic Marvel Studios Presents #79 is part of Wolverine’s definitive Marvel origin story, showcasing the memorable Weapon X story arc that the X-Men movies never fully adapted.
That popular comic series explored the darker themes tied to his traumatic experience, and could have been a particularly important part of Deadpool & Wolverine. Now that mutants are closer to arriving in the MCU, Marvel Studios may have plans to adapt this Wolverine arc in a much more epic way.
