Sony has maintained a firm step in its PC release strategy for its former PlayStation exclusive titles. It has been equally firm with a controversial measure involving these ports and the next one will not get rid of it.
The repudiated PlayStation Network (PSN) account requirement to play PlayStation titles on PC began with Helldivers 2. Although fans managed to reverse the decision, all subsequent Sony releases on PC have implemented it.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will require a PlayStation Network account
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will debut on October 31 and an essential requirement is the PlayStation Network account in both the Epic Games Store and Steam; otherwise it will not be possible to play it.
As we mentioned, the latest Sony titles on PC require this linking, so it is not surprising that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered also implements this measure, but that does not mean that players have already accepted it.
After it was confirmed that the account is necessary to play Aloy’s remastered adventure, many fans took advantage of Valve’s platform to express their anger, arguing that it is absurd to request a PlayStation Network account for titles that do not have a multiplayer add-on or even require internet connection.
“So $15 USD more just for the requirement of a PSN account,” said one dissatisfied player. “So they want me to give them money, to give them my information… for tiny enhanced graphics. You can keep your remaster.”
“Requiring PSN for single-player PC games is stupid and there are no excuses,” another disgruntled user commented.
The problem is even bigger if we remember that there are regions where the PlayStation Network is not supported, which means that PC users in these places will not have access to these games.
The rejection of this new Sony policy has been such that a user created a mod to ignore this requirement, although he decided to delete it to avoid problems with Sony.
