There is never a guarantee that life will go as straight and smoothly as we want. It is not uncommon for us to encounter bad situations that are beyond our control, where the only solution is to face them head-on and try to be the winner in the end. Regardless of whether it can be defined as bad luck, fate, or other spiritual concepts, this is the situation that Shutaro Ida must face. As Director for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Ida had to step down due to a situation she couldn’t control.
Through his official social media account, Shutaro Ida, who is responsible as Director for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and will spearhead the work on Bloodstained 2, announced that he has cancer. Wanting to focus on fighting this disease, Ida decided to resign from her important position. However, he made sure that he had discussed Bloodstained 2 and the various ideas he had with other team members so that he was confident in handing over the task to them. Ida’s announcement was also supported by the producer – Koji Igarashi, who of course hopes for her recovery as soon as possible.
Up until now, the DS series and Bloodstained have essentially been produced mainly by director SHUTARO.
It can truly be said to be his work.
It’s a huge pain to have him away from the project, but I’ll do my best not to let that happen.
I hope you recover enough to work together again. https://t.co/YirZi5fYYD— IGA (@KojiIGA) October 1, 2024
ArtPlay as the developer itself has not yet shown what Bloodstained 2 they are working on will look like. We as gamers and fans of Ida’s games of course hope that she will quickly emerge as a winner against the cancer she is currently facing. Get well soon, Ida-san!
