A few days ago we saw the new Kawasaki Versys 1100, and now another piece of news arrives. Still a four-cylinder from Akashi, but faster! The new Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX is arriving. The evolution is also the same for the sport tourer, which sees the engine displacement go from 1,043 to 1,099 cc, with the consequent stroke and bore now 59 by 77 mm. Thanks to the increase in displacement, the maximum power obviously increases, reaching 136 HP at 9,000 rpm, while the torque reaches 113 Nm at 7,600 rpm. Kawasaki then decided to also review the gear ratios, with the fifth and sixth hours longer. There is also an update for the Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), which now comes into operation smoothly at 1,500 rpm. However, declared consumption remains at 5.6 L/100 km.
Small but important updates
Naturally, the Akashi company didn’t stop there, as it added a USB-C socket on the handlebars to the standard equipment. We then touch on the cruise control, of course the power modes, as well as the inertial platform, the K-TRC traction control and a latest generation Cornering ABS. Increases the diameter of the rear disc. The green sports tourer then features the original equipment Bridgestone Battlax S23 (120/70ZR17M/C (58W) front and 190/50ZR17M/C (73W) rear).
Big leap for the SE version, which features the Öhlins S46 rear shock with remote preload adjustment, as well as heated grips as standard. Then, the radial master cylinder, Brembo, is new, complete with braided hoses and M4.32 monobloc radial front calipers. Both the standard and SE can connect to Kawasaki’s Rideology app (adjust the bike’s settings and much more). For the MY2025 models, Rideology uses voice control. Height-adjustable windshield and side cases confirmed.
