After leaving the Mandalika track, the MotoGP caravan arrives in Japan to face the 16th round of this intense season. Before focusing on the trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, however, Paolo Simoncelli wanted to talk about the results and emotions experienced in Indonesia by the Sic58 Squadra Corse team, in his usual post-race appointment.
We leave you to his words.
“We come out with a flash article, something we don’t usually do between one non-European event and another. In a few moments we will already be wearing kimonos and Japanese wooden sandals… but we cannot help but say a few words about this exciting race.
Lunetta amazed everyone with a superlative overtaking, an overtaking for four. Few people know that he already did it once in the CEV too. Active participant in a timed battle, a clash of titans. Eight drivers within a matter of seconds competing for first place. In the end Alonso prevailed at the last corner, while Lunetta finished 5th after having done everything to win. A 5th place without regrets!
Certainly whoever won was strong, but it cannot be said that the others were inferior. Sometimes when there are so many and so close, it’s a question of joints, of overtaking that must be reconciled with the type of curve, of finding space between one elbow and the other without making stupid mistakes, of where the finish line is positioned compared to the last corner… but they were all good and clean, it seemed like a dance. Let’s also remember that Luca is a rookie, and being a protagonist in this way all weekend is a great calling card. On the Sky Sport MotoGP page the overtaking had just two views; 1.3 million views compared to the 40/50 thousand that the other reels have on average. And we would like to show off a bit about this, yes because there is always a lot of talk about MotoGP, a lot of focus is placed on this category but it must be admitted that Moto3 is also having some exciting developments, it offers emotions that not always or at least not only, the MotoGP gives.
Farioli, unfortunately, ended a weekend that had been positive until FP3, at the medical center. Fortunately he didn’t emerge like the bike, but almost unscathed, after a violent high side and a blow from another rider immediately behind, which had definitely scared us.
Well, I hope to brighten your day next Wednesday too, with a cheerful and nice press release, otherwise, you know well the meaning of my press silences…”.
