Misunderstood
Giftedness is difficult to define, it says something about a person’s intelligence, but also about their personality and the environment in which these factors are expressed. According to a common definition, people with an IQ higher than 130 are referred to as gifted. About 2.5 percent of people have such a high IQ. (Source: CBS).
It is often thought that a gifted child will easily progress through his or her school career. But because they pick up certain material so quickly, boredom often sets in. In addition, gifted people often encounter misunderstanding from others when it comes to their reasoning and sense of humor. In many cases, this makes it difficult for them to make contact and can end up in isolation.
