One of the most successful horror sagas at the box office in recent years has been Scream. After a triumphant revival in 2022, the franchise created by Wes Craven has confirmed the return of Ghostface with a seventh installment. After several months of uncertainty and controversy, its release date has finally been announced.
Through their social networks, Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures confirmed that Scream 7 will hit theaters around the world on February 27, 2026. In addition, they announced the return of their main star, Neve Campbell, who did not appear in the sixth installment due to financial differences with the production company.
The script will once again be in charge of Guy Busickresponsible for the sixth installment. Although the official plot of the film has not yet been revealed, rumors suggest that the story will once again focus on Sidney Prescott, although this has not been officially confirmed.
At one time it was feared that Scream 7 would be canceled due to controversies surrounding Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, after comments related to the conflict between Israel and Palestine. However, it seems that production has decided to continue forward, and the franchise will once again bring Ghostface to the big screen, albeit with a slight delay.
