Feyenoord started the group stage with a 4-0 defeat on home field against Bayer Leverkusen. Girona unfortunately lost 1-0 at Paris Saint-Germain due to a blunder by goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga. Trainer Brian Priske is missing striker Santiago Giménez, Calvin Stengs, Quilindschy Hartman and Bart Nieuwkoop in Girona, who are injured. Daley Blind is missing at Girona due to an injury. Donny van de Beek and Arnaut Danjuma are there.
