If you don’t keep up with the Marvel series, which is more than understandable due to their enormous number, you won’t know that a few years ago we had a series of The Punisher. You may be familiar with the actor who plays Frank Castle from Ghost Recon Breakpoint. It turns out that Ubisoft chose him as a villain to play Cole D. Walker, who is clearly inspired by the Marvel character.
The Punisher He is a controversial character, but very loved by Marvel fans. This is a vigilante who has no qualms about unloading an entire magazine on the head of a criminal or villain in order to do justice. He is a complex and interesting character, so much so that he had his own series after putting the Daredevil de Charlie Cox.
Jon Bernthal faced a lot of pressure when playing the character. His training was not limited to gyms, but also to comic stores. The actor recounted his experience eight years ago in several interviews: “I know who you are,” the comic book store clerk told him. “Ok, buddy, I just want to buy these comics,” Bernthal responded.
The conversation took an unexpected turn very quickly: “No, you won’t,” the clerk replied. “You won’t buy this one, nor this other one, and even less this one,” he continued after seeing his choice of comics to prepare the character. “You have to read this one, this one and these two more.” And before finishing the transaction, he dedicated a few last words to her: “Don’t screw up.”
Although the series was not an absolute success, the truth is that Jon Bernthal established himself as a good The Punisher. He loved the character and is totally dedicated. He has repeated on several occasions that he is clear that “if he returns, it has to be in a correct way, capable of respecting the original material and showing what Frank is really like inside.” In fact, it will.
