Darkstalkers is a franchise that Capcom does not forget, but rather has it somewhat mistreated and as an example is the new content it is preparing, but which disappointed fans instead of leaving them happy.
Capcom started the week with the reveal of new content coming to Street Fighter 6 in October to commemorate Halloween and is inspired by the Darkstalkers fighting franchise, which gave the world cool character designs, like Morrigan. However, the reception was far from what was desired.

Darkstalkers content for Street Fighters 6 disappoints fans
The content in question is a themed Battle Pass whose main attraction is a Jon Talbain outfit for the avatar. The package is complemented by music, a photo frame, prints, plaques and more cosmetic items from the series, as well as the Night Warriors game for the Battle Hub.

The problem that many fans have with this Battle Pass is Jon Talbain’s outfit, which, although some were grateful because it means that Capcom does not forget about this series, is due, as many consider that avatars are a poor alternative. This is a customization option like that of the Mii in Super Smash Bros., which Nintendo took advantage of to launch character costumes instead of the characters themselves.
For that reason, many would have preferred that Capcom made skins or DLC characters themselves, while others simply asked for a new installment of Darkstalkers.

“Avatars are trash,” another angry user said. “At least make the skins for the characters, as happened with SFV. But most importantly: we need a new Darkstalkers game.”
“This rather makes me angry. On many levels. We want a new Darkstalkers and some more content,” commented another disappointed player.
“JUST GIVE US A NEW DARKSTALKERS GAME, PLEASE,” said one user.
“The Darkstalkers series should come back,” another fan opined.
In case you missed it: fans are still waiting for Capcom to listen to them and revive Darkstalkers with a new game.
It is important to remember that this is not the first time this has happened. Months ago Capcom announced a collaboration with the anime SPY×FAMILY, which offered costumes for the avatar and that was not what fans expected either.
Darkstalkers Gala Fighting Pass can now be purchased. Additionally, the Battle Hub will be decorated in accordance with the October festivities.
